For high temperature applications, such as turbo manifolds, high horsepower exhaust applications, and even aircraft manifolds, 321 Stainless is a superior choice when compared to 304 Stainless. 321 Stainless has a similar chemical composition to 304 stainless; however, 321 Stainless uses Titanium as a stabilizing element and offers much higher strength and temperature resistance as compared to 304 Stainless material. In the 800°F to 1,562°F temperature range, 321 Stainless is not susceptible to the same level of corrosion as 304 Stainless and is the material grade of choice for applications with temperature ranges up to 1,652°F (intermittent service) and 1,697°F (continuous service).
