304 Stainless Flex Couplings — Interlock Liner and Inner Braid

ALL 304 STAINLESS FLEX COUPLINGS — INTERLOCK LINER & INNER BRAID

Our slip-fit braided stainless steel flexible exhaust couplings are great for reducing vibration and stress in your exhaust system. These flexible exhaust couplings feature an all 304 stainless steel braided exterior, internal liner, two-ply flexible stainless bellow, and end caps. Many flexible exhaust couplings on the market today are either all 409 stainless (which is an inferior grade of stainless steel in terms of corrosion resistance) or have a 304 stainless body and 409 stainless end caps. Whereas, our braided flex exhaust pipe couplings are 100% 304 stainless steel from the end caps to the body to the bellow and the liner. Our all 304 stainless steel flex couplings are able to withstand the stress and vibration of an exhaust system, as well as able to withstand daily driving conditions due to their superior corrosive resistance.

INTERLOCK LINER STYLE FLEX COUPLINGS

The interlock style internal liner helps provide a smooth flow for the high temperature exhaust gases passing through the flex coupling. The interlock liner is almost entirely flat and does not intrude into the inner diameter of the braided flex exhaust pipe coupling, meaning it does not reduce down on the inside and provides a straight through flow of exhaust gas. Our inner style braided flex exhaust pipe couplings are available with internal diameters ranging from 1.750" to 4.000" and have available lengths of 4", 6", 8" and 10". 

INNER BRAID STYLE FLEX COUPLINGS

Like our Interlock style flex couplings, our Inner Braid style flex couplings helps provide a smooth flow for the high temperature exhaust gases passing through the flex coupling. The braided internal layer is meant to prolong the life of the metal exhaust bellow and help eliminate "whistling". In smaller sizes the inner braid is nearly flat, without protruding into the inside of the flex coupling. However, on larger sizes, typically 3.500" and 4.000" inside diameter, the inner braid can protrude into the inside of the flex coupling, reducing the total inside diameter of the flex coupling. Our inner braid style liner flex couplings are available with internal diameters ranging from 1.750" to 4.000" and have available lengths of 4", 6", 8" and 10". 

FLEX COUPLING USAGE AND WARNINGS

External braided style flex couplings, including interlock liner style and inner braid style, are fantastic options for exhaust system applications, including OEM replacement applications. These flex couplings are durable and affordable option for new exhaust systems and replacement parts; however, they are not suitable for pre-turbo applications. Our exterior braided flex exhaust pipe couplings feature either an interlock style liner or an inner braid style liner and are not intended to be used in turbo manifolds or applications where the braided flex coupling is positioned BEFORE the turbo(s). Due to the extreme heat created by the turbo(s) and/or the turbo manifold(s) the internal braided portion, or interlock liner, can degrade and may damage the turbo.
